Choosing the right identity

Use the BBA logo for the Association, The JBBA logo for the journal, CEBB for the Centre for Evidence-Based Blockchain, and BAF for the Blockchain Associations Forum. Use the programme’s full name in the surrounding text so the relationship is clear.

BRAND USAGE GUIDELINES

Clear identity. Accurate representation.

Version 1.0 · Effective 22 September 2026

1. Purpose and scope

These guidelines apply to the names, logos and artwork supplied on this page (“Brand Assets”). They identify The British Blockchain Association and its programmes. Use the current files supplied here for new material. Earlier BBA identities, including the logo retired in 2019, are not current brand assets; historical reproductions should be clearly identified as historical.

2. Permitted editorial use

Subject to these guidelines, BBA grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to reproduce the supplied Brand Assets for accurate news reporting, academic reference and factual identification of BBA or the relevant programme. Reproduce the artwork faithfully, identify the organisation accurately and, where practicable online, link to the relevant official website. This permission does not authorise commercial endorsement, co-branding or use as your own identity.

3. Uses requiring written permission

Obtain prior written approval from BBA for advertising, paid promotions, sponsorship or partner displays, merchandise, product packaging, certificates, badges, event branding or other uses suggesting an association with BBA. Membership, fellowship, attendance at an event or publication in The JBBA does not by itself confer a general right to use BBA’s marks. Any separate written licence or agreement governs the use it expressly authorises.

4. No implied endorsement or official status

Do not present the Brand Assets in a way that misleadingly implies approval, accreditation, certification, sponsorship, membership or endorsement of a person, organisation, product, investment or service. BBA’s parliamentary and institutional relationships do not confer permission to use Parliamentary, Royal, government or third-party emblems, or imply endorsement by those bodies.

5. Artwork integrity

Use the supplied originals. Preserve proportions, colours, wording and any symbols already present in the artwork. Do not stretch, redraw, recolour, crop the design, add effects, animate it or combine it with another mark without written approval. Do not recreate a logo with AI or substitute a similar font. Keep the logo separate from surrounding text and graphics, with clear space of at least one quarter of its displayed height. Use a plain, contrasting background and retain legibility at the final output size.

6. Names, marks and ownership

BBA, JBBA and CEBB are registered trademarks. Downloading or using the supplied artwork does not transfer ownership or grant unrestricted permission to use these marks. Use the full programme name on first reference, followed by its abbreviation where helpful. No ownership, registration or other intellectual-property right is transferred by providing these files. All rights not expressly granted are reserved to BBA or the relevant rights holder. Do not register or adopt a confusingly similar name, logo, domain, account or identifier. Do not add a registered trade mark symbol to artwork where it is not supplied or otherwise authorised.

7. Fellowship and programme-specific artwork

The Fellowship artwork is supplied for identification and reporting about the programme. Its display must not suggest that an individual holds Fellowship unless that status is accurate and current. Personal promotional use, member badges and other status-related uses require the applicable written authorisation. The CEBB ecosystem graphic must be described as an explanatory graphic, not as a separate accreditation mark.

8. Corrections, withdrawal and lawful use

BBA may revise these guidelines or withdraw the discretionary permission granted here for future use, including where use is misleading or non-compliant. On notice, promptly correct or discontinue the affected use, subject to any separate agreement and applicable law. These guidelines do not restrict rights or exceptions available under applicable law, including lawful reference, criticism or review. Third-party assets remain subject to their owners’ terms.

9. Requesting approval

Send a proposed layout or mock-up, the intended context, publication channels, territory and duration through the BBA contact page. Approval applies only to the use expressly confirmed in writing. Silence does not constitute consent. For print production beyond the resolution available here, request the appropriate master artwork before proceeding.
